why tears don't burn

because tears are like saline
and I’m out of alcohol
only acid botched skin
and perma-grin
ferments the heavy
the dry
the dead
and it’s a bonfire
I can't be part of

I like this, but I’d prefer “a bonfire I can’t be part of”.
Just seems more natural to me, as a statement.
Nice poem

This is ok for a short piece, but not strong enough to hold on to.
Is it just me, but brings to mind standing too close to the barbecue and trying to juggle the tongues and spatula whilst holding a bottle of beer. And then the flames flare up because of fat dripping on to the coals.
