because tears are like saline
and I’m out of alcohol
only acid botched skin
and perma-grin
ferments the heavy
the dry
the dead
and it’s a bonfire
I can't be part of

I like this, but I’d prefer “a bonfire I can’t be part of”.
Just seems more natural to me, as a statement.
