What the crow didn't say

Written for J because she made me remember.

It came early.
Took me away from my lover's tent.
Made me follow in canoe to a gash in the trees rent by lightning.
Beckoned me to step inside
But I was not ready.
Canoed back to she who slept in nothing and leather
And as a reminder of choice and fate
my fig fawn left a black feather.
