Caged Bird Sings

I feel restricted
I try to fly, but before I can expand my wings to be lifted
They hit the walls
The barriers designed just for me
Sometimes I ponder how this could be
Was it destined?
From an egg, was it known by a mind greater than my own
That this would be my home?
Or did I make a mistake
Did I fall into a trap because of my lust for bait?
Misfortune or fate
I do not know
But it seems there is nowhere for me to go
I'm lonely from head to toe
So here is my song
I will sing at night
And all the day long
How I wish to be free....
