variable fascinations: an etude

My heart is strong, however the beat is untrue
-- my heart forever voyages, longing its compass, always returning home
-- and yet, I find myself in another variability; under-understood
-- I was always akin to being extremely variable and a perplexing child and now, my variable heart rhythms throw out a cacophony of counter-point
-- I find myself transitory at best and at worst with a foot in the doorway to an after-life with all of its brighter-world fascinations
-- thus, I can murmur along at 34BPM and then swagger up to 148 in the space of a few moments
-- my fragility aside this variableness has always fascinated me, and now it writes my fate with its moving finger, and I'm writ in it with wakeful waxes and woeful wanes, with a sick-sinus-syndrome, with Doctors who'd pronounce their proclivities, noting their infernal referrals amongst colleagues that're best
-- and yet, all of you are the best colleagues I've ever agreed with man
-- I wish you were right where I imagine that you are at this very moment; listening to waves rolling in from the sea, scanning the heavens canopy of stars with just a glance, and laughing at the infinite jest that living in this world is all about...

“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”

intriguing write.  I quite like the division of strophes.   although I might've added 'steps' after "148" in 6.  nevertheless, dig it, I do.
